Ayushman Bharat will provide a fixed benefit of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year. This coverage will cover almost all secondary care and the majority of tertiary care procedures. There will be no cap on family size or age in the scheme to ensure that no one is left out (especially women, children, and the elderly). Pre- and post-hospitalization expenses will also be covered under the benefit plan. All pre-existing conditions will be covered beginning on the first day of the policy. The beneficiary will also receive a predetermined transportation allowance per hospitalisation.
